4 ways to create passion in everything you do!

I don’t know about you, but I have learned this lesson the hard way. In order to do what you love in life, you can’t just get there right away; you must first go through steps.

You can’t just one day wake up and see yourself in the perfect job if you haven’t gone through some experiences. You can’t find yourself in the best university, if all you did was slack off in your high school years.

For some of us it might take few years while for others it might take a life time to get to do what they really love, but wouldn’t it be a waste of life to live an unhappy life because you are not doing what you really love to do?

Whether it’s a relationship, a job or a course that you’re taking from school, I believe that you must learn to love what ever you do in your daily life. By learning how to bring passion into what ever you do, you become more positive and productive and you get to what you want a lot quicker. How do you do it? How can you bring passion to everything you do?

  1. Be Curios! Curiosity creates interest in everything you are doing and interest creates passion
  2. Be Positive! Stop focusing on things you don’t like and appreciate what you have
  3. Be patient! To get to where you want to be, you will need to learn how to go through its steps. Speeding up the process makes you not enjoy the process and in return not to be good at it.
  4. And most importantly Be the best! No matter how un-passionate you are about what you do, you must learn to do your job perfectly everyday, every time. When you are the best at something, you will find passion in it and enjoy its process.

If you have any thoughts that you would like to share with me or my readers, please don’t hesitate to write your comments.

Love your write up!
It's very Deepok Chopra. I work off the same mentality and love being reinforced with what you stated. I am a personal trainer/owner of The Health Joint Loving what I do is what helps me to motivate people. Going through the steps is certainly part of our evolution. By going through the steps we learn and grow. This process can only bring more and more rewards. Rewards for all!
Thanks for sharing!

Love and light,

Dear Farid,
I'd like to share some thoughts on this blog entry. I like what you have to say, and I'd like to take them a step further.

On Being Curious:
How does one become curious? Can I snap my fingers and instantly become it? Probably not. What should be explored is how to become curious. It starts with the self. One must be curious on the way his/herself responds to events, and whether he/she is happy with the response. It starts with the self. Then one can turn curiosity outward to be able to process, "what does this mean for me, and how does this affect who I am and my meanings of myself and the world?"

On Being Positive:
You hit on the "how" a little bit by encouraging us to stop focusing on the negatives. However, the problem with this is that focusing on the positive becomes slightly superficial. We are goverened by our beliefs. We all tend to have limiting beliefs. What we must do is understand and identify our limiting beliefs, and visualize where these limiting beliefs will take us in 1 yr, 5 yrs, 10 yrs. We need to create some very painful and negative feelings towards carrying these limiting beliefs. THEN, we should go through and change each one of those limitng beliefs, and see where having these new beliefs take us in 1 yr, 5 yrs, 10 yrs. We should have some strong positive emotions linked with these new beliefs and the future it could create for us.
So instead of trying to purely stop negativity, we must understand and explore it, so that we can appreciate positivity to its fullest.

On Patience and Being the Best:
This is the crux of motivation. The day to day activities, the endless barrel of tasks, the handling of less than desirable administrative protocols...yes, patience and the desire to succeed are critical, but how does one attain these attributes? One of the ways is to shift our mindset on these things. We tend to lose motivation and start thinking negatively on certain tasks when we feel like we *HAVE* to do something. We should make a shift in that thinking, and realize, we really don't have to do any of this, and can go do something completely different...that we do in fact do these things because we genuinely *WANT* to do this. If we start approaching all the little details and minute tasks as things we genuinely *WANT* to do, we can approach things with better degrees of Patience and Success.

Again, great entry, you provided some food for thought, and I hope you find some value in some of the points I've outlined.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and creating such a great company!

I wanted to thank Sury Nieves and Santanu Rahman for their wonderful comments. As stated in my subject heading; I presented 4 ways to create passion in everything I do personally and wanted to leave the floor open for anyone else to share in their own experiences of what they do to accomplish the same. I completely agree with Santanu as there is no right or wrong answer here, just different paths to get to the same destination.

It’s funny that you mention Deepak Chopra Sury, as I have just finished his new book entitled LIFE AFTER DEATH: The Burden of Proof. It was a great read and I highly recommend it.

I look forward to more of everyone’s comments.

Sincerely,

Farid Dordar

Master Farid,

I enjoyed your blog. It was good to be reminded that speeding things up, doesn't always allow you the space to enjoy it.

I have found that true curiosity requires bravery, because it is neither safe nor predictable and will force you to relinquish control and be affected.

Probability diminishes as procrastination escalates. On this note, I have been meaning to share that I have become quite passionate and relentless about learning nun chucks. I learned numerous skills from our instructors, yet wish to grow further.

If there is an appropriate time, I would be very excited to learn anything you would share.

"The nun chucks are a beautiful weapon"

Respectfully,
:) Nadya

You have started an interesting and equally important subject. Very nice comments from everybody and very thoughtful. By reading the comments I got only one question in my mind: In your opinion is passion = Success? Just having passion can drive us to success? [and/or... same question, different angle] are all successful people necessary passionate in their life or what ever they do?

I am just someone who wants to know which direction I want to go. I used to have a dream of becoming a flight attendant, but then it didn't come true due to my height. When I was young, I wanted to become a model, but yet my height and my face profile were the problem.

I agree for being curious you will find out what you like the most and what you like the least. Once you enjoy something, then you realize that you have found your dream and it's all from the curiousity.

Be positive, I do like the fact that being positive can help you go through difficult time. No matter how hard it is, if you look at the bright side, you will learn something from it.

To be patient is everyone's problem. It's not easy. Yet, I agree with Master Farid. I am a patient person and I do not mind waiting and going through steps. If you can't wait, you might turn yourself down and ruin your plans. But if you're going too slow, it will not help either. So, I would say if you can balance yourself, you'll get there.

I disagree with being the best. Of course everyone wants to be the best, but nobody is perfect. Just like Ricky Bobby (Talageda Night) -- if you have watched that movie. If you're not number one, you're nothing?! or you're a loser?!
My advice is: do the best you can do. Although at the end you are in the last position, but at least you are satisfied with what you have given, the best! and you'll be proud of that.

Thank you for letting me writing this comment.
